Development of Five Food Forests in collaboration with Ehsaas at identified five locations in Lucknow. In addition to this, the project promotes the establishment of nutrition gardens under the name “Bori Bagiya” in urban slums for the urban poor. The project also contributes to the vision of a green and clean city by recycling botanical waste to create manure. At the initial phase of the project around 650 vegetable bags each containing a set of five types of vegetables were distributed to poor and marginalized families in three slums in Lucknow. Recipients of these vegetable bags in slums are facilitated to undergo training under expert to take care of plants by themselves for ensuring that those families have access to a diverse range of nutrients. This initiative not only promotes good health and nutrition, but it also helps to alleviate the financial burden on these families.
